UAE was recently recognized as one of the best global destinations for expatriates by InterNations Expat Insider survey conducted annually by German research firm. This annual poll evaluates expat experience across 181 countries worldwide.
InterNations bases its rankings on various factors such as language, bureaucracy, career opportunities, leisure activities, transportation, job satisfaction, safety, healthcare, digital services, housing, wages, and job security. The top nations for foreigners in terms of standard of living, ease of settling in, employment prospects, personal finances, and accessibility to basic amenities are highlighted in the “Expat Insider 2022” report.
In 2022, Mexico claimed the top spot, followed by Indonesia, Taiwan, Portugal, and Spain. Despite facing tough competition, the UAE secured an impressive sixth-place ranking overall, excelling in four out of five key areas and 11 out of 17 indexes.
According to the study, 86% of foreigners expressed satisfaction with government services provided and 94% felt safe living in the UAE. Furthermore, 90% reported the widespread availability of cashless payment options, making daily transactions simpler.
Healthcare was also highly valued among respondents of this study: 78% appreciated easy access to medical services while 79% stated living in the UAE had positively affected their career prospects. Expats reported no major language barrier when living here while 83% considered administrative procedures simple and efficient.
This study showed that 75% of expatriates found the process of finding housing easy. Furthermore, 83% highlighted how easy applying for resident visas was – giving the UAE top global standing in this respect.
Overall, the UAE remains an attractive expatriate destination, offering high quality of life, professional development opportunities and a safe, well-organized environment.
